Jet Ski escort "Save the Children" passengers on the Kookaburra Sat Oct 6 '12

Fun First!
Hi everyone,

PWC FUN has been asked if we can assist to get some people together to escort the Kookaburra Paddle Steamer on what is set to be it's last voyage down the Brisbane River.

The Paddle Steamer is to be offered for auction at the Rivergate International Boat Show being held at Rivergate Marina. This is situated just on the Bay side of the Bridge.

The best part is that on board will be some very special Kids from the save the Children Fund.

They are asking if as many Jet Skis as possible can escort the Kookaburra into the Marina (idle speed only).

This is great for us as we get to showcase our sport as the family friendly activity it is and do our part to swing public opinion away from the negative.

I'm told the Kids are all Jet Ski mad (aren't we all) and that the sight of us will just give them the best day

The plan is to follow the Kookaburra along the River as below. Once it is within about 1km the Captain will take it down to under 6knotts and we will then come together in closer formation and escort the Boat into the Marina.
If your not sure about the formation part your welcome to follow behind too.

There will be News Helicopters covering this part so lets show them how cool Skis really are!

In return we have been given an area to exhibit information about Jet Ski activities. Jordan (President QPWC) is going to organise it and set it up.

We will also be given free tickets to the Boat Show and somewhere to dock the Skis so it will be a nice day out.

The schedule is as follows;

6am - Meet and launch at the Morningside Boat Ramp
Riders coming in from other ramps can arrange to meet us further along if required.

https://maps.google.com/?q=-27.454855,153.081608(Colmslie+Recreation+Reserve)
Colmslie Recreation Reserve, Lytton Road, Morningside, Australia

6.30 - Make our way to Eagle Street Pier

7:00am - Meet at Eagle St Pier (75 Save the Children and minders to board Kookaburra River Queen - given wrist bands as they board)

7:15 am - Depart Eagle St Pier. Full media coverage

Jet skis to ride around and behind at a safe distance off the Kookaburra River Queen. All laws apply.

08.30 am - Pick up guests at Bretts Wharf

After departing Bretts Wharf we will then form an escort for the Kookaburra to take her into the Rivergate Marina

09.00 am - Arrive Rivergate International Boat Show

Show the children the Skis close up.

Lunch and look around the Boat show.

If you (and your Kids are welcome too) or any of your friends would like to be a part of this ride please register below or phone Mandy on 0449 077 747

This will be a great chance to get out on your Skis and really show them off in the best way.

The Kids will just love it anyway but if we can get a huge number of Skis they will go off wh

I cant wait! May even get the Pirate costume out again :)

Launching is the easy part Kylie, so no probs :)

Milton is bringing his 4 legged child too. She will love to see another "furry kid" on a Ski. So will the Kids!

If you need someone on the back or to drive there will be heaps of people who are licensed but being passengers so you'll be fine.

We'll look after you strchr

Hey don't forget to give the shaver a workout first eh rotflmao

It looks like we will be back at the Boat Ramp by 10.30 - 11 ish.
